Trans Guy Handbook
This book is for anyone questioning, considering, or in the process of transitioning in a masculine direction.
A lot of trans guys have the same questions, so I’ve decided to compile some answers. This work is an informal collection of things I’ve learned about transition along the way as a white American trans man who began transitioning in my mid-30s. My main hope is that it helps give other transmasculine adults some basic starting information to feel more comfortable researching more into their own transition journeys. It is far from comprehensive, but it should give a strong starting point to pursue more information.
Within this book, you'll find sections on:
- Terminology
- Tips for beginning to explore a masculine gender
- Chest binding
- Packing
- Testosterone hormone replacement therapy
- Various surgeries
My goal is to continue adding to this work as I progress along my own transition journey. The surgery section, in particular, has a solid foundation but a lot of room for expansion. However, I wanted to release what I've learned so far rather than waiting for a final perfectly complete state that may never come.
Note: Nothing written here should be taken as medical, legal, or therapeutic advice – please, always talk to a professional with relevant specialties before making decisions that affect your physical or mental health.
